Neck & Low Back Pain Help San Diego CA

Neck & Low Back Pain Help San Diego CA

Ice Therapy Really Can Help You Decrease Your Neck & Low Back Pain.

Unfortunately most doctors never discuss this with their patients and if they do tell them to ice, they say try it 2 or 3 times a day for 2 or 3 days.

But, here's the deal...

In order for ice therapy to work, we need to be extremely consistent with its usage.

I tell my patients to ice 20 minutes per hour as much as they can during waking hours, never directly on the skin! Always over a cloth or t-shirt. The more you ice , the more you decrease the inflammation and we block the pain signal
Ice in and of itself is not going to hela you but it can aid and help for sure!

Ice causes something called "vasoconstriction", which basically means it pushes out inflammation and swelling which helps to lower the overall pain levels. Most of my patients are dealing with disc injuries that are pretty serious in nature and high in pain. The amount of swelling and inflammation near the discs and nerves roots is very high. By icing we can lower this sensitivity and help to start blocking out the pain signals.

If we are heating these injuries, although it can feel good at the time, it will generally cause something called "vasodilation" which will bring extra blood into the already inflamed and irritated tissues which can then further increase the pain.

We want to be sure we use ice for only 20 minutes per hour and NEVER ice the skin directly, always use a shirt or a cloth over it to prevent tissue damage.

Try it out...

If you are dealing with severe low back pain then you know how challenging everyday life can be. Just getting up in the morning and getting your clothes on can be a monumental task. Forget about working out, sports, social events, intimacy, work suffers, relationships suffer and guess what? Your pain affects everyone around you, so here is the thing....

NO ONE IS COMING TO SAVE YOU!!!!

You gotta be your own advocate, you have to do it yourself. You owe it to those around you, family, and friends but mostly to yourself to get better, you can't give up, you can't quit.

We focus on getting right to the cause of the pain with our patients. The vast majority of low back pain is a result of compression of the spinal discs. We live in a gravity environment and over time this combined with the amount of hours we spend in a seated position lead to significant compressive forces that our discs cannot handle.   This pressure eventually causes the spinal discs to compress so much that our spinal nerves then get “pinched” or pressed upon which produces not only sharp pain at times but can be tight and stiff muscles, dull achy pain and overall discomfort.   This is why for the past 18 years we have been utilizing something called NSSD, Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. Researched & Proven highly effective through Johns Hopkins University, Stanford University, Duke Medical Center and Mayo Clinic among others.   The treatment is comfortable relaxing and most of our patients fall asleep while they are lying on their backs receiving this gentle treatment.   We are the largest provider of spinal decompression that we know  of inSan Diego as well as the state of California. Our clinic director and founder, Dr. Cassidy Boelk DC is a certified spinal decompression doctor. He has spent thousands of clinical hours helping patients in his office, reading and researching disc injuries and low back pain, attending seminars and conferences and thousands of hours spent in the gym working on training and spinal mechanics and spinal injury rehabilitation and conditioning.   He has recovered from a broken back as well as multiple disc herniations in his low back and neck and sciatica as well.   The care I received at Dr. Boelk’s office was so wonderful. I went from having to lay down for several hours a day, to being able to live my life normally, and even began working up my exercise capacity. I always felt cared about, and there was a lot of feedback. The exercise and information Dr. Boelk provides is so critical to maintaining positive results and pain reduction with increased mobility and freedom. All the staff are so caring, and it’s one of the best decisions I made for my back!” - Kaetlyn Hammond, San Diego, CA   “This place is amazing, the staff is friendly and I'd recommend this place to anyone who needs it. I recently discharged from the military with quite a few injuries, and extremely bad back pain. Since then I have seen dozens of incompetent doctors that have had no real interest in treating me, only interest is selling me the next pill or vaccine. Dr. Boelk is not one of those doctors, this man is professional/ knowledgeable and truly cares about his patients. I have had nothing short of a great experience in this office. His nurse Megan is also very polite and caring for their patients. These days it is very difficult to find a genuine medical professional, so when I do find them I feel that the world needs to know. This man is a good dude.” - Donnie Martin, San Diego, CA   We are here to help so don’t hesitate to call and ask any questions, it can be a little confusing of who to see for spinal decompression and not all spinal decompression offices are the same. There is a significant difference between offices who perform spinal decompression therapy a few times a day and offices that perform 40-50 spinal decompression visits per day. Make sure you are going to the one you feel best seeing. We are not for everyone and always want to be sure that our patients feel they are in the right spot to get the help they need.   Our clinic director and founder, Dr. Cassidy Boelk Dc truly cares about his patients and does all he can to get them the best results possible day in and day out.   There are many offices in San Diego who advertise to be experts in spinal decompression. It may be of benefit for you to do some research. There are multiple factors that go into utilizing spinal decompression properly. Unfortunately many offices are unaware of the proper protocols, are not certified and are "experts" at multiple services.     As the largest provider of spinal decompression that we know of in San Diego as well as the state  of California we are experts in Spinal Decompression and our doctor is one of few actual Certified Spinal Decompression Doctors.     Spinal decompression is a well researched and proven treatment but needs to be rendered in a specific and individualized  way. There is a science, art and expertise as well s extensive knowledge on how to go about treating a patient properly with spinal decompression. Unfortunately many doctors are unaware  of just how many factors need to be considered when entering the settings for each individual treatment and they hav not spent the time, energy or financials to better their procedures and hence their patient outcomes are poor.   We have 5 decompression machines and have 3 machines that help people with their low back pain and sciatica and 2 that help with their neck pain and radiating arm pains.   Realistically spinal decompression is a full time and all hands on deck treatment that requires significant knowledge of disc injuries, healing mechanisms, spinal biomechanics, spinal rehabilitation and spinal stabilization and multiple years of experience. Being an expert is said to require a minimum of 10,000 repetitions of something. Many offices have been utilizing decompression for only a few years to months and are advertising as experts, so just be aware of who you are seeing. We have compiled a quick reference guide to help.   Our treatment protocols are highly successful, personal and unique to each patient and the equipment we utilize has been proven effective by Johns Hopkins University, Stanford University, Duke Medical Center and Mayo clinic among others.   Rated the #1 Spinal Decompression office in San Diego for many reasons. Here is a quick guide to finding the best office when searching for Spinal Decompression:       1. Does the office specialize In Spinal Decompression or is it just one of many multiple treatments they offer? We have seen many patients come from other offices who said they are specialists and experts in spinal decompression but only treat 3 or 4 patients a day on decompression.       2. Is the doctor or staff actually getting the patients on the treatments? Spinal Decompression is a specialized skill and requires daily decision making and protocols vary from person to person, it is not a one size fits all approach. Many patients come from different offices and inform us they were getting decompression but it was done by the staff and many times they are in pain when on the tables. The treatments should not be painful but feel good.       3. Is the doctor Certified? There are many doctors who are utilizing spinal decompression who are not certified. It is best to see someone who took the time and learned the process and is certified.       4. Do they have a good reputation and reviews that report the doctor and office and staff are looking out for the patient and there is a common theme of the doctor caring and wanting the best for their patients?       5. Experience? How long has the office been utilizing spinal decompression? How many sessions have they performed? You want to see someone who has a lot of experience and knowledge in their field when looking for spinal decompression offices.       Our office has been specializing in NSSD, Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression for the past 18 years. Everyday we perform 40-50 sessions. Every single decompression session is performed by our doctor and not our staff. He determines the settings and has unique protocols for each patient that is dynamic.       Our clinic director and founder, Dr. Cassidy Boelk DC is  Certified Spinal Decompression Doctor. Most of our patients fall sleep or listen to podcasts or music while on the tables and it feels great. Followed up by specific spinal stabilization protocols developed by Dr. Cassidy Boelk, DC to hep ensure the pain relief lasts.     3 keys for any complete disc injury Spinal Decompression treatment protocol will consist of the following:   1. Modification- there are numerous movements through the day that are aggravating your condition and any good doctor will discuss and set a plan to remedy this.   2. Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is extremely comfortable and takes the compression off the spinal discs which then allows the disc to come off the spinal nerves, mainly the sciatic nerve. At the same time the disc is now able to get water, oxygen and nutrients that are vital.   3. Spinal Stabilization- if not addressed and the spinal and gluteal (butt) muscles are not strengthened the the pressure will once again be placed on the spinal discs which will once again cause the pain.    Our treatments we use are clinically proven highly effective and have been researched by Johns Hopkins University, Stanford University, Duke Medical Center and Mayo Clinic among others.   For a no-charge, no-obligation consultation call 619-298-0800,     *Due to demand, regardless of referral from family physician, neurologist, orthopedic surgeon or chiropractor patients are seen on a first come basis.     "I came in with extreme back pain, resulting in days were it was difficult to get out of bed.  There were moments where I would be walking and then my back would lock up.  I thought it was something I have dealt with in the past but this last the entire month of July.  I finally dedicated myself to finding the long term solution.     ‘I came to Dr. Boelk unsure about the process, but after he identified exactly what my ailment was, I felt confident that this was the long term solution I was looking for. I instantly felt better and Dr. Boelk kept encouraging me to trust the process and understand it will take time to feel 100%.  I am now pain free and honestly feel stronger, even a little taller.   I highly recommend you visit Dr. Boelk." - Ming T.   "I highly recommend Dr.Boelk to everyone who has issues with their back and neck. After 2 months of treatment I am feeling a considerable difference. Dr. Boelk's skills and experience are incredible. Especially I appreciate his "very cautious and attentive " approach to the health: no unnecessary adjustment and procedures. I am very grateful to Dr.Boelk for his knowledgeable and professional treatment." - Olga M.   "Dr. Boelk & his staff are by far the BEST at spinal decompression. I walked into his office unable to sit to do my job, where I was having to lay each day & within a couple of weeks he helped me with being able to sit again. His attention to you & the way he will make you feel is unparalleled. First of all, he has suffered from some severe back issues, so his empathy is very high. Secondly, he is extremely caring & genuinely wants to help people. I've never worked with a doctor who has cared as much and made me feel like I was his only patient before. There would be 4 people there at the same time, and he still made me feel this way. I guess I just cannot thank him enough & cannot recommend him enough. He is an angel on earth. If you visit him, please listen to him & follow his instructions. He knows what's best for you. " - Erin T   We are 5 star rated on over 200 reviews. With traction and inversion tables the spinal muscles are unable to fully relax and thus they stay somewhat activated which then prevents the discs from getting into a negative pressure and healing properly and getting rid of the pain as much as possible.       Serious inquiries only please.
