Low Back Pain Tips San Diego CA

Low Back Pain Secret When At Standing Work Desk....

Standing work desks are great as they take pressure off the spine and can help with low back pain quite a bit.

Here's the thing.....

You have to have a mat to stand on or your back is going to start hurting just like it does when you are sitting for a while.

Why is this?

Because standing on a hard surface in one spot can be very tough on a low back.

Hrees; how:

1. Over time the pressure darts to build up in the lower back.

2. Then the disc can start to put pressure on the spinal nerves.

3.  The nerves then cause the low back muscles to start to tighten up.

4. Now we feel the pain and the ouchies.

So when we stand on a mat or an airpad, something that can lessen the building pressure within our spines, we are much happier and there is much less pain.

So, get yourself a standing floor mat or an air cushion, I use a wurf board but there are many variations of this.

We focus on getting right to the cause of the pain with our patients. The vast majority of low back pain is a result of compression of the spinal discs. We live in a gravity environment and over time this combined with the amount of hours we spend in a seated potion lead to significant compressive forces that our discs cannot handle.

This pressure eventually causes the spinal discs to compress so much so that our spinal nerves then get “pinched” or pressed upon which produces not only sharp pain at times but can be tight and stiff muscles, dull achy pain and overall discomfort.

This is why for the past 18 years we have been utilizing something called NSSD, Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. Researched & Proven highly effective through Johns Hopkins University, Stanford University, Duke Medical Center and Mayo Clinic among others.

The treatment is comfortable relaxing and most of our patients fall asleep while they are lying on their backs receiving this gentle treatment.

We are the largest provider of spinal decompression that we know  of inSan Diego as well as the state of California. Our clinic director and founder, Dr. Cassidy Boelk DC is a certified spinal decompression doctor. He has spent thousands of clinical hours helping patients in his office, reading and researching disc injuries and low back pain, attending seminaries and conferences and thousands of hours spent in the gym working on training and spinal mechanics and spinal injury rehabilitation and conditioning.

He has recovered from a broken back as well as multiple disc herniations in his low back and neck and sciatica as well.

The care I received at Dr. Boelk’s office was so wonderful. I went from having to lay down for several hours a day, to being able to live my life normally, and even began working up my exercise capacity. I always felt cared about, and there was a lot of feedback. The exercise and information Dr. Boelk provides is so critical to maintaining positive results and pain reduction with increased mobility and freedom. All the staff are so caring, and it’s one of the best decisions I made for my back!” - Kaetlyn Hammond, San Diego, CA

“This place is amazing, the staff is friendly and I'd recommend this place to anyone who needs it. I recently discharged from the military with quite a few injuries, and extremely bad back pain. Since then I have seen dozens of incompetent doctors that have had no real interest in treating me, only interest is selling me the next pill or vaccine.

Dr. Boelk is not one of those doctors, this man is professional/ knowledgeable and truly cares about his patients. I have had nothing short of a great experience in this office. His nurse Megan is also very polite and caring for their patients. These days it is very difficult to find a genuine medical professional, so when I do find them I feel that the world needs to know. This man is a good dude.” - Donnie Martin, San Diego, CA

We are here to help so don’t hesitate to call and ask any questions, it can be a little confusing of who to see for spinal decompression and not all spinal decompression offices are the same. There is a significant difference between offices who perform spinal decompression therapy a few times a day and offices that perform 40-50 spinal decompression visits per day. Make sure you are going to the one you feel best seeing. We are not for everyone and always want to be sure that our patients feel they are in the right spot to get the help they need.

Our clinic director and founder, Dr. Cassidy Boelk Dc truly cares about his patients and does all he can to get them the best results possible day in and day out.

There are many offices in San Diego who advertise to be experts in spinal decompression. It may be of benefit for you to do some research. There are multiple factors that go into utilizing spinal decompression properly. Unfortunately many offices are unaware of the proper protocols, are not certified and are "experts" at multiple services.

As the largest provider of spinal decompression that we know of in San Diego as well as the state  of California we are experts in Spinal Decompression and our doctor is one of few actual Certified Spinal Decompression Doctors.

Spinal decompression is a well researched and proven treatment but needs to be rendered in a specific and individualized  way. There is a science, art and expertise as well s extensive knowledge on how to go about treating a patient properly with spinal decompression. Unfortunately many doctors are unaware  of just how many factors need to be considered when entering the settings for each individual treatment and they hav not spent the time, energy or financials to better their procedures and hence their patient outcomes are poor.

We have 5 decompression machines and have 3 machines that help people with their low back pain and sciatica and 2 that help with their neck pain and radiating arm pains.

Realistically spinal decompression is a full time and all hands on deck treatment that requires significant knowledge of disc injuries, healing mechanisms, spinal biomechanics, spinal rehabilitation and spinal stabilization and multiple years of experience. Being an expert is said to require a minimum of 10,000 repetitions of something. Many offices have been utilizing decompression for only a few years to months and are advertising as experts, so just be aware of who you are seeing. We have compiled a quick reference guide to help.

Our treatment protocols are highly successful, personal and unique to each patient and the equipment we utilize has been proven effective by Johns Hopkins University, Stanford University, Duke Medical Center and Mayo clinic among others.

Rated the #1 Spinal Decompression office in San Diego for many reasons. Here is a quick guide to finding the best office when searching for Spinal Decompression:

1. Does the office specialize In Spinal Decompression or is it just one of many multiple treatments they offer? We have seen many patients come from other offices who said they are specialists and experts in spinal decompression but only treat 3 or 4 patients a day on decompression.

2. Is the doctor or staff actually getting the patients on the treatments? Spinal Decompression is a specialized skill and requires daily decision making and protocols vary from person to person, it is not a one size fits all approach. Many patients come from different offices and inform us they were getting decompression but it was done by the staff and many times they are in pain when on the tables. The treatments should not be painful but feel good.

3. Is the doctor Certified? There are many doctors who are utilizing spinal decompression who are not certified. It is best to see someone who took the time and learned the process and is certified.

4. Do they have a good reputation and reviews that report the doctor and office and staff are looking out for the patient and there is a common theme of the doctor caring and wanting the best for their patients?

5. Experience? How long has the office been utilizing spinal decompression? How many sessions have they performed? You want to see someone who has a lot of experience and knowledge in their field when looking for spinal decompression offices.
